Tehmine Schaeffer is an award winning Armenian soprano, one of the leading of her generation, whose repertoire encompasses wide array of operatic and concert works.

She has performed in many countries around the world, including in the United States, Russia, Austria, France, China, Italy, Spain, Israel, and Germany. She has appeared as a soloist with such renown orchestras as Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra, Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra of Russia, Russian National Orchestra of Mikhail Pletnev, Tatarstan Philharmonic Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, the Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong, the Symphony Orchestra of Cairo, Israel, the Symphony Orchestra of Tbilisi, Georgia, Kirov Philharmonic Orchestra(Russia), Ural Philharmonic Orchestra(Russia), Minsk Chamber Orchestra(Russia), and Symphony Orchestra of Novgorod(Russia).

Native of Armenia, Ms. Schaeffer has graduated with Honors from the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory in vocal and composition. While student she won the prestigious International Competition of Young Composers Crystal Kamerton, in Moscow, 2003. In 2009 she was offered a special scholarship from the Mikael Tariverdiev Fund to continue her performing career in Russia. Since then she has appeared in numerous projects presented by the Tariverdiev Fund, performing Tariverdiev’s compositions, including the mono-opera "The Waiting" and the concert for the coloratura soprano “Expectation,” with the Chamber Orchestra of Kirov Philharmonic, the Minsk Chamber Orchestra, the Ural Philharmonic Orchestra, the Symphony Orchestra of Novgorod and the Ryazan Philharmonic. In 2010 she debuted at the Tchaikovsky Concert Hall, in Moscow with the State Symphony Orchestra New Russia under the baton of conductor Yury Bashmet

Ms. Schaeffer is a laureate of a number of international vocal competitions including a 1st Prize at Victoria International Vocal Competition 2014 in Kazan(Russia), a Special Prize at Romansiada International Vocal Contest of Romance 2015 (Russia), a Special Prize at Sviridov Chamber Vocal Competition 2015 (Russia) and at the 25th Glinka International Vocal Contest 2014, where she was awarded a Special Prize "For the Best Performance of Work Written After 1975." She has participated at such prestigious international festivals as the Festival International d'Aix-en-Provence 2011 (France), the North Aegean Music Festival 2014 (Greece), the Opera Apriori 2015 (Russia), Fermata International Festival 2015 (Russia), the Vyatka Spring (Russia), From Baroque to Mozart in 2016 and in 2017(Russia), and the Organ Plus 2017 (Russia)

Ms. Schaeffer has sung in a number of operatic roles including Podtochina's daughter in Shostakovich’s The Nose, the first flower-maiden in Wagner's Parsifal, with the National Opera de Lyon(2011-2012), Nerina in Haydn's La Fedeltà Premiata and Arsena in Strauss' Die Zigeunerbaron with the International Opera Academy in Vienna(2015, 2016), Queen of the Night in Mozart's Magic Flute with the Opera Burg Gars in Austria (2017) and with the Wuxi Grand Theatre in China (2018), and others.

Ms. Schaeffer currently resides in Vienna, Austria.
